Projects
I’m no programmer, but I have worked on my fair share of software development projects. Some of them were done for fun (read: hack days); some of them were done for classes. None of them were for any sort of professional or work purpose. I’m primarily an interface designer, as I minored in CS and all I got was this lousy compiler error. So I work mostly on the front end of things, making applications (hopefully) useful, usable and pretty. The following are some of the projects I’ve contributed to:
FlyBy
Yahoo+GTACM Hack Week 2009 project, created with Andrew Guyton.

My contributions:
- Interface created using Microsoft Expression Blend 2. In two days, I learned the software and XAML well enough to create a mostly working interface.

Campus Map Mashup
Yahoo+GTACM Hack Week 2008 project, created with Andrew Guyton. Incorporates a number of additional information layers into the Georgia Tech campus map including bus tracking, bus stops, Wikipedia and crime. Also fixes a few bugs in the original map. Unfortunately, due to some issues that we can’t quite track down (we think it’s a problem with our server configuration), the only layers that currently work are the bus tracking and bus stops.

My contributions:
- Crime layer. The GTPD crime reports don’t have an RSS feed, so I had to create a dummy feed in XML to provide data for the layer. I also designed the marker graphics for the crime locations, which were color-coded depending on the nature of the crime.
- Other random stuff I really can’t remember because it was a year ago. I’ll get back to you.
Wiki Editor Interface
This project for my UI Design class is an attempt to add an intuitive WYSIWYG interface to MediaWiki. It combines MediaWiki and FCKeditor through php and css changes to each. It’s installed on Andrew’s self-hosted wiki, Wikiavian if you’d like to try it out.
